Andy Walters Memorial Website

Nothing that I could think to write could really do justice to the person that Andy was. He was such an extraordinary person. He made a profound impact on every person he met. Everything I write here will barely scratch the surface of what a complex and amazing person Andy was.

He was always there to give a helping hand, some advice if you needed it, or just a big bear hug. He was creative, kind, considerate, brilliant, and hilarious. Who could ever forget his sense of humor. He could make you laugh in so many ways; his dry sarcastic wit, quoting every line from Tommy Boy or Red VS Blue or any other funny line from a movie, or just doing something goofy to make people laugh. He was the kind of person that just put you in a better mood just to be in his presence. He could make you smile no matter the circumstances.

He had a talent for art and he loved it. He could rattle off a thousand obscure facts about art history that you would never have guessed he would know. Through high school he was very into ceramics, his favorite class. He made some awesome and hilarious pieces in that class. He was also was taking a drawing class his first semester in college. He never got a chance to really show where his potential would take him but he made some great looking pieces in the class nonetheless. His creative mind was and is an inspiration.

He loved magic as well. He spent hours watching and learning from videos, youtube, or trial and error. He could watch a magician do a magic trick and immediately be able to tell you how they did it. He dedicated himself to mastering this hobby just like he did with anything else he did be it art, magic, or video games.

A lot of us have a lot of great memories playing video games with Andy. He always knew everything about what was coming out and all the latest news. He also somehow always knew every secret about every game he played. He could hang with the best of us in each of these games as well.

Andy was the kind of friend you meet once in a lifetime. He was the best of friends to have. He would walk through anything at your side if you asked him to. If there was something troubling you he was going to be there for you. If you needed cheering up he was definitely the person to turn to. He could always make you smile. I suppose that is part of the reason this is so hard. He would be the very person so many of us would turn to first when we deal with something as terrible and difficult as this but we can't this time.

We have to find a way to go on now, always asking if the lives we are leading are the lives he would hope for us. The pain of losing Andy will never go away but he would want us to live out our own lives to be happy. We will miss him always and he will always be in our hearts.

Andy, we love you and we miss you. Here's until we see each other again.

Love,
Tyler Walters
Andy's brother
